This Rambling Garden - Des Kennedy

This Rambling Garden chronicles the life of a British Columbia gardens through the seasons with this insightful collection of essays. At times poignant, at times profound, and at times screamingly funny, I would recommend this to anyone as consumed by growing things as Steve and I currently are. The humor is more of a dry wit. I particularly enjoyed his description of gardening clothes, in which he compares “jet set gardeners,” who purchase special garments, to more old fashioned types, who wear whatever is no longer suitable for everyday use. “Muddy and/or torn knees are de rigeur in pants and there’s certainly no reason to be ashamed of a fly zipper that has lost its zip …”
