Not a Good Start to the Day
by Zia ~ November 3rd, 2005. Filed under: House, Pets.At two in the morning, we woke up to realize that Harry had peed all over the bed. One of the side effects of prednisone is increased thirst, which means increased urination, and although I had take him out before bed, I guess he couldn’t hold it. We stripped the bed and slept in sleeping bags for the rest of the night.
I don’t know how much better Harry is. There’s no question he’s more mobile, but he still seems off most of the time. I don’t know if he’s just depressed because he can’t go romp the way he used to, or if he feels bad. I wish he could tell me how he’s feeling. He goes back and forth: perky-tailed and perky-eared one second, droopy-tailed and eared the next. It’s like he fades in and out, and it happens really fast. One second his old self, the next not so good.
It’s raining, which I actually like (I’m much more productive when it’s inclement out and I’m swamped), but the skylight over my desk is, once again, leaking. Little chunks of plaster are raining down onto the towel I’ve put to the left side of the desk to catch the water.
So all in all, I guess I’m not that happy a camper this morning.
