The Bowl is Already Broken - Mary Kay Zuravlieff

The Bowl Is Already Broken: A Novel The diminutive, but hugely pregnant, Promise Whittaker has just been named acting director of Washington D.C.’s asian art museum when its priceless new acquisition is … you guessed it … broken.

But that’s not all that’s broken in this novel, and Promise, who is thrust in a role she doesn’t really want, is forced to sweep up all the pieces. I thought this was a great novel; it could so easily have become a nothing sort of a read — read it, enjoy it, and immediately forget about it — but Zuravleff has a keen eye and an even sharper pen. It’s obvious she has something to say about the art world, and says it she does. Recommend.
