I second Bill's recommendation. Until a few weeks ago, that was my primary camera, and I managed to squeak some pretty good photos out of it. I still use it as my around-town setup ...the 30D is too big for my purse!

Canon A710IS. Review: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/CanonA710IS/

If you want a truly pocket-able camera, I would suggest the Casio EX-Z850. They don't make it anymore, so you would have to search for it, but it is better than the EX-Z1000 that replaced it...

Polaroid has a pretty good one that is easy to use. I got one for Christmas 2005 and it's worked out pretty good.
